Zion National Park in Utah is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. If you love nature, mountains, and peaceful hikes, this place is for you. It’s about a 2.5 hour drive from Las Vegas, and the road trip itself is amazing.
You’ll pass wide open deserts, red rocks, and small towns that feel frozen in time.
The entrance fee to Zion is around $35 per vehicle, and the pass is valid for seven days. It’s worth every penny.
When visited Zion, I stayed in Springdale, a small town right next to the park. There are free shuttle buses from Springdale into the park during peak seasons, which makes it super easy to get around without worrying about parking. The main shuttle in the park stops at all the popular trailheads and scenic spots.
One of the best hikes I did was the Zion Narrows. It’s not a regular trail, you actually walk through the Virgin River between huge canyon walls. The water can get up to your waist in some spots, so wear water shoes or rent gear from a local shop in Springdale for around $30.

The views are unreal, like something out of my imagination. If you’re not into water hikes, the Emerald Pools trail is an easier option with waterfalls and shaded paths.
Another famous hike is Angels Landing, but it’s not for everyone. It’s steep, narrow, and has drop offs on both sides. You now need a permit to hike it, which costs $6 to apply for and about $3 more if selected.
I didn’t do this one because I’m scared of heights, but just hearing stories from other hikers made me nervous and curious at the same time.
Zion isn’t just about hiking though, you can sit by the river, enjoy a picnic, or just enjoy the views. The red rocks glow during sunset, its magical. No Wi-Fi, no stress, just nature at its best!
