U.S. Travel Ban Countries List 2025 : Read this before traveling

This year I planned to travel around the world. And i had 5 countries itinerary. I was very excited about this 5 countries world visit. Later, i heard the news of Ban countries List from my fellow travelers, so then i started digging in the news. Then came to know about 12 Ban countries for US travelers to visit. Out of them, 2 were in my itinerary list. The official news was like this……

The U.S. now fully bans all travellers, visitors and immigrants, from these 12 countries: Afghanistan,

Myanmar (Burma),

Chad,

Republic of the Congo,

Equatorial Guinea,

Eritrea,

Haiti,

Iran,

Libya,

Somalia,

Sudan,

and Yemen.

If you’re from any of those countries, you cannot get a new visa or board a plane to the U.S. unless you’re exempt. Like if you already hold a valid visa, are a green card holder, or fit one of the rare exceptions (diplomats, athletes headed to World Cup 2026 or Olympics 2028, families of U.S. citizens, etc.)

Seven more nations, Burundi, Cuba, Laos, SierraLeone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela, face partial restrictions. People from these countries can still get some visas, like work permits, but tourist, student and business visas are blocked, and what they do get is shorter and harder to extend. Driving all this is a June 4 proclamation by President Trump, citing trouble verifying passports, high visa overstay rates, and national security risks.

The proclamation was signed June 4 and kicked in at 12.01 a.m. Eastern on June 9. This isn’t just theory, it’s hitting home. Some airlines are already turning away passengers, and universities are warning students not to make big international trips this summer. A few thousand students from countries like Iran and Venezuela are now scrambling, worried they’ll be locked out if they travel.

So, according to me, next time if you have any plans for another country. Verify all the information from the State Department or the White House Press release. Discuss with fellow travelers and plan it accordingly. Otherwise, last minute plan changes are very disturbing. Stay Safe.
